Can I do small jobs, like changing a tire or a battery, in the storage unit?+
No. Mechanical work of any kind happens off-site. Drive the car to where the work gets done; the storage unit is where it lives.
You rent contractor garages. Can I work on my car in one of those?+
Is there electricity in the storage units?+
No, there are no outlets or power. That’s the main reason a storage unit can’t work as a workshop.
Does my car have to run to be stored?+
Yes. Any vehicle stored at Ocala Storage Park must be operable, registered and insured, and it shouldn’t leak fluids. A car that doesn’t run, or a project car up on stands, can’t be stored here.
Will my car fit?+
A typical car fits a
10x20 (200 sq ft) with room to walk around it. Two cars, or a car plus a lot of gear, go in a
20x20. Bigger vehicles go in
outdoor parking.
Can I store parts and tools with the car?+
Yes. Parts, tires, toolboxes and equipment can all go in the same unit as the car. Gas cans and other flammables can’t.
I’m a snowbird. Can I store my car just for the summer?+
Yes. Every lease is month-to-month, so store it for exactly the months you’re away. Here are some
snowbird storage hacks.
Is the facility secure for a valuable car?+
The facility is fenced and gated with keypad entry, well lit and on 24/7 video. Gate access is 6am–10pm daily. Ask us about
tenant protection too.
Do you have climate-controlled units for cars?+
No. All our storage units are drive-up and non-climate-controlled. See the humidity tips above.
